Hog’s Breath Company Pty. Ltd. is the founding company and master franchisor of the Hog’s Breath Cafe chain of themed licensed restaurants and bars.
The company was formed in 1989 in Queensland, Australia with founding partners Don Algie and Ginger White who opened and operated the first Hog’s Breath Cafe, Bar and Grill in the seaside town of Airlie Beach, in the Whitsunday Islands, North Queensland.
Hog’s Breath Company owns the “franchise system” utilizing the intellectual property, for the preparation, cooking, and merchandising of certain foods and other related products sold exclusively through various franchised premises operated under the name “Hog’s Breath Cafe”.
Hog’s Breath Company controls the licensing and use of the intellectual property rights including trade marks, logos, artwork, copyrights, design and merchandising of these products throughout specified countries around the world. As at January 2009 there are 70 outlets operating in Australia, 3 outlets in New Zealand, 3 outlets in Singapore and 2 outlets in Thailand.
Apart from the suite of Hog’s Breath related trade marks in the specified countries, Hog’s Breath Company also controls the licensing and use of the Jamaica Joe's trade marks in Australia and overseas.
The Hog’s Breath Cafe chain in Australia and New Zealand is licensed to Hog’s Breath Cafe (Australia) Pty. Ltd under a Franchised System Development and Management Agreement. They in turn sub franchise individual outlets to local franchisees.
The Hog’s Breath Cafe Chain in Singapore and Thailand is licensed to Hog’s Breath Asia under an International Franchised System Development and Management Agreement.
Hog’s Breath Company is now embarking on further expansion in to other Asian countries as well as the UK, Europe and North America. Master Franchise opportunities are available to suitable applicants meeting the strict qualifying criteria to manage and operate a Master Franchise in the available territories and countries. |
